ValiRx Plc, the life science company focused on advancing innovative healthcare, has launched ValiRx Animal Health, a company dedicated to transforming cancer care for companion animals through the development of first-in-class oncology therapeutics.

Building on ValiRx's expertise in oncology research and development, ValiRx Animal Health will focus on translating scientific advances from human medicine into veterinary applications, helping to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and clinical benefit for companion animals.

The company will leverage translational research models to accelerate the evaluation and development of promising oncology assets, enabling the generation of meaningful clinical data while reducing development risk. Through strategic partnerships, licensing agreements and collaborative research programmes, ValiRx Animal Health aims to establish a robust pipeline of innovative therapies designed to improve treatment outcomes for pets diagnosed with cancer.

The launch comes at a time when veterinary oncology continues to face a significant shortage of comprehensive clinical evidence, biomarkers and large-scale treatment datasets compared with human medicine. While specialist veterinary professionals deliver high standards of care, there remains a substantial need for more validated treatment options and data-driven approaches to support cancer diagnosis and management.

By applying advanced biological science and translational research methodologies, ValiRx Animal Health intends to help address these challenges and accelerate access to scientifically validated cancer therapies for companion animals.

A Growing Need for Veterinary Oncology Innovation

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in companion animals, yet treatment options remain limited compared with those available in human healthcare. ValiRx Animal Health has been established to help close this gap by supporting the development of innovative therapies and generating the clinical evidence required to advance veterinary oncology.

Mark Eccleston, Managing Director of ValiRx Animal Health, comments:

"The launch of ValiRx Animal Health represents a natural extension of our expertise in oncology development. We see a significant opportunity to apply the scientific knowledge, development models and commercial experience built within ValiRx to the veterinary sector, where there remains considerable unmet need.
Our objective is to support the development of innovative oncology assets for companion animals, generate robust clinical evidence and ultimately improve outcomes for pets diagnosed with cancer. By working with partners across the veterinary and life sciences sectors, we believe we can help accelerate the availability of new treatment options and create meaningful value across the animal health ecosystem."

ValiRx Animal Health is committed to advancing innovative, science-led solutions that improve the quality of care available to companion animals while providing new partnership opportunities across the veterinary health sector.
